FORBIDDEN E-Bike Camping Near Lava River Cave
Hey there, I’m Eric Tennant, and I’m currently about ten miles east of Flagstaff, Arizona. 🌵🚴♂️
In this adventure, I’ll be cycling down to a fascinating spot called the Lava River Cave. 🌄 It’s an underground volcanic cave, and I can’t wait to explore its mysterious depths.
But before that, I’m setting up camp for the night. I’ve got some new gear to show you all, and I hope it works out well because it’s all I’ve got! ⛺
Now, let’s talk about that smoke on the horizon. It’s not a cloud; it’s a controlled burn. The fire department is intentionally burning the grass and vegetation to make the area safer. 🌿🔥
As I pedal onward, the smoke starts to dissipate, and I’m relieved. My lungs won’t handl...

What is your conclusion on the hammock? I had one a few years ago, it lasted one trip before i shelved it. Stay groovy,
24:58 that was mesmerizing and cool
Hi what fuse are you using between the mppt and the battery. Sorry I'm new to this stuff and I'm just trying to figure out what I would need to buy thanks so much.
U do not a LCD if u don't want it, just short signal and +5v on LCD plug
Hey Eric, Thank you so much for your videos. I've been following them closely recently, and they've been incredibly helpful. I've wanted to build my own solar-powered bike for a long time, and your channel has made that possible. Your tutorials are fantastic, and I appreciate all the effort you put into them. I hope you don't mind me reaching out. I recently purchased a kit to set up my solar bike, and I need some advice. I want to use my Flexi 100-watt panel to charge my laptop on the go. Here's the solution I've come up with, but I'm not an electrician and could use some guidance. I've purchased a CIGS 100W solar panel, which I plan to connect to an MPPT Boost Solar Battery Charger Controller Regulator 24V-72V with an output setting of 24V. From there, I'll connect it to a Female Cigarette Lighter Outlet 12V 16AWG Heavy Duty Cable Accessory DC Power 12 24Volt Socket. Into this outlet, I'll plug a SONRU USB C Car Charger, 120W Cigarette Lighter USB Charger with 4 Ports [PD60W & QC30W] Super Fast Car Charger Adapter to charge my laptop via USbc on the go Do you think this setup will work? Sorry for the long message, but I wanted to reach out to someone knowledgeable about this. Thank you!
Great video and content, Eric! Thank you for also writing in kilometers!:-)
My pleasure!
Here's a few comments. I noticed that you used a flashlight in the cave, do you have have a "lantern" that would show more of the cave? I got a very small $20 LED light that serves that purpose. Did you think of getting panniers to carry more supplies? How do you like your trailer? I bought a bigger 2 wheel trailer that attaches at my seat stem. Is a one wheel trailer better than 2 wheels?
Green heaven
Thank you. Very helpful tutorial.
When I saw all the lights I thought you had found a DeLorean. Carry on the adventures.🙏
Go for it "green break" smile, enjoy your eBike trip videos.
Yup, I met God in the forest, can relate.
The editing style makes it difficult for me to watch.
Maybe a bit chopped in the cave. I did redo it a bit. That version will be out this weekend. I needed better lighting in there.
Happy Independence Day, Eric 😎👍
🎉
Nice one Eric
Thanks!
Why no trailer this trip?
This tour predates the trailer
Saw that Google Maps routed you onto a dirt road north of Coolidge, I live in Phoenix and have biked to and from Tucson a few times since 2017, I like to get on Hwy 87 near Sun Lakes and stay on the I-10 access road to Tucson. Lots of familiar scenery there, great video!
Happy 4th! 👍
Nice, we spent it the same way with the same amount of people 👍 Peace harmony and positive vibes 🦘☮️
t seems you get a puncture in every video, I've never known anyone get so many. I get a puncture about once every 5 years, and I ride my bike 5 to 6 days a week.
Arizona eats tires.
Great video 🇬🇧☀️🍻👍👍🏁
Thanks 👍
I think the hotel receptionist had a problem with your dirty bike, not you. However I'm sure he could have arranged a bucket of water and a hand brush for you to wash your bike. Spread the word and make sure we all boycott this hotel
I never knew about curly's cabin that was pretty cool. Also I loved the PSA (Public service announcement) about packing your trash out unfortunately people still have to hear that 😢 you would think they'd Know Better by now.
I really enjoyed your video, I have never known anyone get so many punctures as you, where does all those bits of wire come from, we don't have that problem here in the UK.
Come off the tires when they blow out.
I was a Bit Worried at the beginning , i Coudn"t hear a Green Break on the Check list before Ya left But All Good LOL Im Glad you Put KMH and C For Us Wanna Be Colonials Much appreciated , Plus What is That speaker looking Thingy on ya handlebars
Yeah great video. Love your solar rig. near castles and coasters you gotta watch out for the crackheads in the tunnels😮 I don't know how particular you are about your tires but I have 2 new XR2 TEAM ISSUE TIRES 29x2.0 that I would love to donate. 😊 Go Bafang😁👍👍
That would rock my front is so old it can't do tubeless anymore. I will be out of town for the next week testing the 100w solar trailer up near Flagstaff. Think the 100w will fit on single track better then the 200w would.
@@Eric_Tennant Yes then contact me when you get back. You sure picked a great time to be in Flagstaff, Temps are going up🥵
who starts their bike tour in their flat?! the rest of the video is still reasonably authentic, but the beginning is completely bonkers.
I have a Blix aveny. I also have a 12v 175watt solar panel. What else would I need?
You just need one of these and your good to go. amzn.to/4bprzuh
The battery can handle that fluctuating charge and 175watt? Wouldn't overheat?
That device can handle 12v input? Someone said it has a minimum of 24v input.
@@Eric_Tennant would the wattage or amps stay the same when you convert the 175watt 12v to 48v?
@Eric_Tennant I have a older renogy 175watt 6.2 lb flexible solar panel new never used. I bought a few years ago. It's big. I was thinking about a custom aluminum trailer. Would that charge controller work for my blix aveny skyline 48v? The motor spins the tire while charging so I think I'll just plug into the battery to charge it while I ride. I'll need a 90 degree plug in. Is there a better brand for the step up controller? Any advice would be great. Max Power at STC: 175W Open Circuit Voltage: 23.9V Short Circuit Current: 9.50A Optimum Operating Voltage: 19.5V Optimum Operating Current: 8.98A Operating Temperature: -40°F to 185°F Maximum System Voltage: 600VDC Maximum Series Fuse Rating: 15A
Sorry I have commented so many times Eric but this is just like phenomenal man unreal
Man ill just close my eyes , tell me when it's over
MAN, HEVK YEAH I CAN DO THAT 😂😂😂😂 O HELL NO, MAN THAT SCARES ME MORE THAN A VISIOUS DOG WITH RABIES 😅😅
Man this is blowing my mind apart, it actually scares me to work with batteries, yeah maybe it's not good to be scared but i don't care, for all the real men out here, sorry 😊😅😅
Dang I wish I was still that smart 🤓 it makes me feel awkward not being able to still do stuff like this..
I want a homemade battery pack soo much, you know,a real nice one
But man if you really did start on my dream bike and I lived long enough to make it there to enjoy some camping trips, i know im gonna get on my sister's nerves anyway so camping, fresh air and nature could keepe going for sa long sa possible, iment AS sorry
I was just checking, and it looks like i could come up with maybe 2 to 3 and a half thousand for going into a bike with good, not cheap cells on top of everything else. And probably as much as a couple of thousand to pay for "brain labor" that's funny huh 😅😅😂 but I don't know, i wish we get to a point where we trust each other enough to talk on the phone in person., I can't say mucho more about anything on here though.
